History

In 1981, a group called Echo Broadcasting was formed for the purpose of bringing Moody Radio to West Michigan. This dream was fulfilled on Jan. 22, 1989, when WXYB 89.3 FM signed on the air, with Scott Keegan as its first Station Manager. A local morning show was added in September 1989 with Scott Curtis as the morning host.

On March 1, 1991, WXYB became WGNB as the station transferred ownership from Echo Broadcasting to Moody Bible Institute. In 1999, the station was downsized and Scott Curtis became the Station Manager and sole full-time employee. In 2007, Jack Haveman joined the staff to become Station Manager for WGNB and Scott Curtis became the Operations Manager. While there have been many changes in personnel over the years, Moody Radio continues to proclaim the Word of God.
