“No Time Spent With the Father Is Wasted”
He had spent a couple of hours walking the beach, enjoying God’s company, when he felt the need to head back to the condo. He felt the need to be “productive”. That’s when the Father told him, “No time with me is wasted.”
Dan Seaborn, is the founder of Winning at Home, a ministry providing speaking events, counseling, and life-giving resources to help families and marriages not only survive, but thrive.
In this episode Dan shares with Perry and Shawna on several topics: Coming to terms with not being a perfect dad, spending time with the Father throughout your day, our ability to be deceived by culture.
Also, our need to be in God’s Word to discern false teaching, the value of intergenerational relationships, and that the deeper we go with Jesus the more joyful we become.

Speak Life to Your Child
Dr. Kathy Koch was at Asbury last week (where the outpouring of the Spirit happened a year ago) and she noticed some life-giving things that are happening there that we can do for our children.
Dr. Kathy is the founder of Celebrate Kids. She has influenced thousands of parents, teachers, and children in thirty countries through keynote messages, seminars, chapels, and more.
Dr. Kathy takes on parenting questions from teenagers and dating to difficult and damaged relationships with our adult kids.
Then, our culture screams, “This is what you need to do and be to be a somebody.” And unless the gospel is deeply rooted in you and me, we will be swallowed by these idols of our age.
Last, like Noah, God has called you to build an ark to save the world. It’s a conversation about the dreams God puts in us to bless and save the world. He has put us in the world for the sake of the world.

“Our World Needs the Authentic Jesus Now”
“…After a lifetime of knowing Jesus, only recently have I encountered the authentic Jesus.” Stan Jantz, CEO of Come and See, testifies of the impact The Chosen has had on his own life. He was so impacted that he leads Come and See on their mission to share the authentic Jesus through The Chosen with 95% of the world’s population!
Perry shares, “I want to be done trying to fix the ugly inside of me through achievements, applause, winning the approval of teachers, bosses, coaches. Cause it doesn’t work!”
Then, following Jesus is a constant dethroning of self. Like Job, we need to be reminded every day, all day, that God is God and we are not. Shawna shares simple ways to keep that truth before us each and every day.
Perry shares, “God doesn’t unconditionally promise to protect us from being really hurt in this fallen world. But he does promise to always be with us and to forever save us from the judgment we deserve for our sins.” And that’s amazing!
Last, as you may know, Shawna grew up in SoCal. You may not know her dad worked for Warner Bros. On one visit to Warner Bros. Studios to meet her dad at the commissary for lunch Shawna unexpectedly was reminded who her dad was.

“I Was Not One of the Cool Kids”
There was a moment in Shawna’s life when she felt so seen, known, and loved that she didn’t want that moment to ever become a memory. She shares why it impacted her so deeply and how we can live in the right now reality of God’s perfect love.
God’s says that believers “go from strength to strength” as we make our way to our forever home. But maybe you feel like you’re going from weakness to weakness on your journey. If so, Perry can relate! And he’s got encouragement for you.
Then, you can know about God and not really know Him. Who do you know who really knows God? What if you asked them what they do to nurture a personal relationship with God so you can really know Him too?
Next, Clayton, a Perry and Shawna listener stopped by the studio to meet them and we asked him to hop on mic to share the moment he decided to go all in with God!
Last, Perry shares, “It’s so easy for me to love what the world values— applause, acclaim, likes, follows; but Jesus is breaking me free.”
