“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Mosque”
Abdu Murray grew up in a devout Muslim family in Detroit, MI. By the time he was a teenager, he was a strong follower and evangelist of Islam. While attending the University of Michigan Dave and Pete showed up at his apartment to share Jesus. Those were the two guys that motivated Abdu to read the bible to prove them wrong!
Apologist Abdu Murray holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a law degree from the University of Michigan. He’s the cofounder and president of Embrace the Truth, a ministry offering the truth of the gospel to Muslims.
So how does a devout follower of Islam who wants to knock the faith out of Christians become a Jesus follower? As Abdu says, “A funny thing happened on the way to the mosque.” Actually, not quite that simple: It was a 9 year investigation into the claims of Jesus and then one frightening leap in a moment of truth that changed him forever.
