Living at Peace in a World Gone Mad
Really? That’s Possible? Brant Hansen joins Perry to show us that it is possible! Brant’s the host of the award-winning radio show, The Brant Hansen Show and his newest book is Life is Hard, God is Good, Let’s Dance.
So first, to live at peace in a world gone made we need to let the words of Jesus recreate us, we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, we need to stop listening to ourselves and start talking to ourselves. Then, professing Christians are deconstructing their faith and walking away.
Brant and Perry share how the power and love of the person of Jesus and his kingdom keep them from being swept away. Next, Brant’s dad was a pastor, and also a complete hypocrite. He caused Brant and his brother to fear for their lives. And yet, it was actually Jesus’ words about hypocrites that brought Brant back around to Jesus.
Then in an age of Jesus superstars, hipster preachers and singers and their expensive homes it can be easy to get jaded and critical. But first we need to look at what’s in our own hearts and then be captivated by Jesus. Brant says, “I’m not giving up the beauty of Jesus just because of some hypocrisy in the church.”
Next, how Jesus healed a 17-year-old young woman with a hole in her face. And how seeing the goodness of God in such beautiful miracles reminds us that God is good and we can trust him. Last, Brant encourages us to outsource our worries to Jesus!
