When challenged by a fearful situation, how courageous are you? Do you keep your eyes on the people around you? Or, do you focus your attention on God? Today on Bold Steps as we continue our study on courage, we’ll be learning that how we see God shouldn’t be affected by how we’re feeling at the moment. Our series is called, Rise—Live Your Best Life Yet and PastorMark Jobe's message is called, Courage—Forward in the Face of Fear.
Today on Bold Steps, we’re going to be talking about courage. So, how would you define courage? Is it an internal trait or attribute we possess, or does finding the courage require something physical from us? Those are the questions we’re looking at today … Pastor Mark Jobe says that courage is the mental or moral strength needed to venture on, persevere, and to withstand danger. In the simplest terms, courage is what’s needed to move you forward in your spiritual life—despite your fears, and anxiety, and feeling the need to ignore God’s timing and take control yourself. Fear causes us to compromise in the waiting room and take on roles we were never meant to take.
Today’s Bold Steps message comes from a message that Mark preached at Moody Bible Institute during a President’s Chapel late last year...
Have you ever had an unmet expectation? I think it’s fair to say that we all have … especially last year. 2020 was a year full of disruptions and uncertainty. There’s a famous quote that says … Expectation is the mother of all frustration … and unmet expectations? Well, those can turn a relationship sour really fast … But, in today’s Bold Steps message, Pastor Mark Jobe is going to help us see how those unfulfilled desires can really mess with our spirituality …

Today on Bold Steps we’re looking at a power section of Scripture in Acts where Peter confronts the crowd and reminds them about the crucified Jesus. A lot of people new to Christianity might be wondering who crucified him … The Romans? The Jews? Us? … Pastor Mark Jobe says that the answer is we ALL are the crucifers. And in today’s message, he is going to guide you through what the apostle Peter said we need to do … Repent and be baptized. It was our sins that put Jesus on the cross … and His love for us that held Him there … and that’s a powerful message that requires action … The message is called, What Should We Do?
