Johnson City, Tennessee

Moody Radio's Johnson City, Tennessee Satellator signed on the air on November 26, 1996, with 10-watts of power and moved to our current frequency of 90.1 FM in 2010. With a transmitter site on Holston Mountain, the station reaches a potential population of almost 40,000 people. Our volunteer technician is a former instructor for Moody Aviation from the Elizabethton Airport who maintains the transmitter site on top of Holston Mountain.

The city of Johnson City was founded by Henry Johnson in 1856. Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol comprise the Tri-Cities region in northeast Tennessee. It is located in a semi-rural setting along the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains where rolling farmland blends with regional employment and retail centers. Johnson City is an economic hub largely fueled by East Tennessee State University and the medical "Med-Tech" corridor, anchored by four medical schools. Ranked as one of the "Best Small Places for Business and Careers", Johnson City maintains a low cost of living and boasts a population of over 56,000.
