A Depression-Era Christmas

When you were a child, did you hear stories from parents or grandparents about Christmas during the Depression? Maybe they talked about how hard it was, and how, if they simply received an orange, they were ecstatic. Hear a "Best of" broadcast with a woman who grew up on a sharecropper’s farm. Plus, hear from a familiar Moody Radio host! Don’t miss the memories on Chris Fabry Live.

Shortly after their marriage in 1953, John L. and Lenora McWilliams moved from their love nest in the country to the small hometown of Prescott., Ark. John worked every day except Sunday at the local lumber company and she was home doing what she loved best--raising their children. They all developed a longing to return to their roots in the dirt. In 1962 they built a home on the farm where John L. was born and raised. They moved into it in November of the same year and unlike sharecroppers, they have not moved again. They anticipate only one more move--when the great trumpet sounds!
